Stick pins and Great friends

Lately my kitchen has turned into my craft/art/sewing room. I have been doing everything from making birthday invitations, designing cakes, sewing pillowcase dresses, and creating other things to do....I must have gotten a "craft thumb"! Jack has turned my measuring tapes into leashes for his dinosaurs. Every time I need one I have to go untangle it from around a dinosaurs neck. Avie almost ate a stick pin the other day....good thing she had the ball going in first! I grabbed it out of her hands and she went on to eating thread. Life is good and things are great....I just cant wait until we get some warmer...less wet weather. I am ready to be outside and see some sun!

I got a still of a deal at Dirt Cheap the other day! A friend called me to let me know that they just got a huge shipment of bedding and bath stuff....mostly from Kohl's...so I loaded up the kids and we were on our way. I have been looking for pink and brown bedding to do Avie's new toddler room in. When we got there most of everything was picked through and gone....but my wonderful friend loaded her buggy down with everything pink and brown she could find! After looking through everything I decided to go ahead and wait...I wanted something a little more babyish....but....I did find me a new bedroom set! Although my husband didn't think we needed a new one. He's just fine covering up with my torn up quilt from high school. Its one of those wedding ring quilts that I just had to have at the time. Anyway....I really liked this comforter set....so I went with my gut impulse and bought it. It was a Chaps brand by Ralph Lauren, and it came with the Queen comforter, two standard pillow shams and a bed skirt....all for $40.00. I was pretty happy with the price, but I always cant wait to look it up on google when I get home to see just how much I saved...plus it sounds better when I tell my husband what I paid for it compared to what it really costs. Retail price for this item was $359.99....I think I did pretty good! Now all I have to decide is what accents to go with....which is unlimited, because there are so many colors that go with ivory!
