chocolate covered raisins

It actually feels good to be really busy! I've been working on so many things....I made Avie's Easter dress, found Jackson's Easter outfit, made a pillow case dress...I'm working on a few more, and finally finished Avie's smocked dress that I started when I was 9 months pregnant with her....luckily it will still fit her soon! I made Avie's invitations and got them mailed....and I've been getting so many cute ladybug ideas for her party! Honestly I cannot believe she will be 1 at the end of this month....it doesn't seem possible....I just gave birth to her a few months ago...not really but it seems that way!
I was out running a few errands this weekend....all....by.....myself.....this is something that rarely happens! The babies daddy took them to the park! I thoroughly enjoyed myself....I picked up a few things for Avie's party and took my time looking at whatever I wanted to! I even decided to indulge in a sweet snack with no sharing.....I grabbed a bag of Raisinets at the checkout....but somewhere between loading bags and answering a phone call from the babies daddy....I forgot about my sweet snack until I got home and unloaded those bags....and once it gets inside those doors, it's game for everyone....there would be no self indulging. Jack of course would be the first to spot the sweet snack.....he must have a candy radar....there could be a hundred things in the bag and he would immediately gravitate towards the "candy".....even if there happens to be a cool toy mixed in....the candy always comes first! So....I had this kinda "Awwwww Mannnn" attitude when he pulled out the forgotten bag of Raisinets....we all had a few....even Avie....and set the rest of the bag aside until after lunch! Well later that day I was walking through the kitchen and spotted a little trail of raisins on the floor....confused....I began to investigate the scene. As I followed the trial it lead to the culprit....sweet little, bright eyed, AVIE....chocolate covered face and all! She decided that she would suck all the chocolate off and spit the raisin out! So my next question was...how did she get them? Well not too far from the culprit was the bandit....hiding under my table with bag in hand! I was surprised that he decided to share a few with his little sister, but then again she is pretty persistent, and probably agreed to reveal his crime if he didn't share his findings......I guess we all like to self indulge every once in a while!

Stick pins and Great friends

Lately my kitchen has turned into my craft/art/sewing room. I have been doing everything from making birthday invitations, designing cakes, sewing pillowcase dresses, and creating other things to do....I must have gotten a "craft thumb"! Jack has turned my measuring tapes into leashes for his dinosaurs. Every time I need one I have to go untangle it from around a dinosaurs neck. Avie almost ate a stick pin the other day....good thing she had the ball going in first! I grabbed it out of her hands and she went on to eating thread. Life is good and things are great....I just cant wait until we get some warmer...less wet weather. I am ready to be outside and see some sun!

I got a still of a deal at Dirt Cheap the other day! A friend called me to let me know that they just got a huge shipment of bedding and bath stuff....mostly from Kohl's...so I loaded up the kids and we were on our way. I have been looking for pink and brown bedding to do Avie's new toddler room in. When we got there most of everything was picked through and gone....but my wonderful friend loaded her buggy down with everything pink and brown she could find! After looking through everything I decided to go ahead and wait...I wanted something a little more babyish....but....I did find me a new bedroom set! Although my husband didn't think we needed a new one. He's just fine covering up with my torn up quilt from high school. Its one of those wedding ring quilts that I just had to have at the time. Anyway....I really liked this comforter set....so I went with my gut impulse and bought it. It was a Chaps brand by Ralph Lauren, and it came with the Queen comforter, two standard pillow shams and a bed skirt....all for $40.00. I was pretty happy with the price, but I always cant wait to look it up on google when I get home to see just how much I saved...plus it sounds better when I tell my husband what I paid for it compared to what it really costs. Retail price for this item was $359.99....I think I did pretty good! Now all I have to decide is what accents to go with....which is unlimited, because there are so many colors that go with ivory!
